Orange is the New Black: a Contemporary Bespoke Kitchen in Margate, Kent.
Our Margate project shows how bespoke cabinetry can reframe a period home for contemporary living. Designed in collaboration with designer Hannah Pemberton, the kitchen balances architectural integrity with confident modern detailing.
The central island, finished in Malahide by Edward Bulmer, features flat-panel cabinetry with cut-out handles and forms the visual focus of the space. Surrounding black joinery, offset with brass accents, adds contrast and depth, while integrated bespoke storage ensures the kitchen works as beautifully as it looks.
Every cabinet, drawer, and hinge was designed and crafted to the exact proportions of the room, allowing the joinery to sit seamlessly within the architecture. The result is a bespoke kitchen that brings together traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design — a modern counterpart to this striking Arts and Crafts home in coastal Kent.
It’s one of our favourites.
