Collins Bespoke is proud to hold the Manufacturing Guild Mark, awarded by The Furniture Makers’ Company to recognise excellence in British furniture and furnishing manufacturing. And, for us, it means rather more than having another logo to display.

Everything we make begins in our own workshop in Kent. Our cabinetry is individually designed, manufactured, assembled and finished by our own team, with the same attention given to the parts you may never see as those you will live with every day. Our detail and thoroughness to our making, and our furniture finishing quality are exemplary. The Manufacturing Guild Mark recognises that commitment to British manufacturing, craftsmanship and the standards achieved behind the finished piece.

What is the Manufacturing Guild Mark?

Established in 1993, the Manufacturing Guild Mark is awarded by The Furniture Makers’ Company, the City of London livery company and charity for the furnishing industry. It is not simply something a company can join or purchase. Manufacturers are independently assessed against a range of criteria covering areas including design, product development, manufacture, quality, financial stability, sustainability and the way the business operates, including the service we provide. And, we are proud to sit amongst a select group of British manufacturers currently holding the Mark. For our clients, it offers something important: independent recognition of the standards we set for ourselves.

There is an important distinction between selling bespoke furniture and actually making it. At Collins Bespoke, our workshop is at the heart of our business. This is where our cabinet-makers turn drawings into cabinetry; where individual components are machined, assembled and prepared; where finishes are carefully applied; and where projects are checked before leaving us for installation. Having design, manufacture and finishing within our own team gives us control over the details — and those details matter enormously to us. We welcome clients, architects and interior designers to visit us and see that process for themselves.

Why it matters when choosing bespoke joinery

A beautiful photograph can tell you what a finished kitchen or piece of furniture looks like. A stunning display can be inspiring too. But they cannot necessarily tell you how the furniture was made.

For clients commissioning substantial bespoke joinery — particularly across a renovation, new build or whole home — the capability of the company behind it matters. You are trusting that company not simply to create something beautiful, but to manufacture consistently, manage complex projects, resolve details properly and produce furniture intended to remain part of your home for many years. We have always been particular about how our furniture leaves the workshop. Edges, joints, proportions, preparation and finish are scrutinised because the difference between something being good and being exceptional is very often found in the smallest details. And, if you have met Nick, you will know how particular that scrutiny is. The Guild Mark did not create those standards, but it recognises them. And that is why we are particularly proud to have it.
