A beautiful bespoke Shaker kitchen designed for a Georgian home in Sandhurst, Kent

Homes rich in history need to be furnished with care, using furniture that complements their architecture and endures over time. At Linkhill House, a Georgian home in Sandhurst, Kent, a thoroughly bespoke kitchen was designed to sit naturally at the heart of a sympathetically renovated family home.

The kitchen balances classic Shaker-style cabinetry with timeless materials and thoughtful personal details. Painted in Railings by Farrow & Ball, the cabinetry introduces depth and drama while remaining quietly elegant. A natural oak island adds warmth and acts as a central gathering point, connecting the cooking and dining areas and reinforcing the kitchen’s role as a sociable family space.

Materials were chosen for both their beauty and their meaning. Granite sourced from India reflects family heritage, while a polished Carrara marble sink run adds understated luxury. Reclaimed herringbone terracotta flooring grounds the kitchen within its Georgian setting, lending texture and authenticity to the space.

Every element was designed and crafted bespoke — from raised worktops tailored to the tall homeowners to cabinetry that discreetly conceals modern appliances.

The result is a kitchen that feels as though it has always belonged: elegant, personal, and deeply rooted in its historic surroundings. And, timelessly stunning.

Cabinetry finished in Farrow & Ball’s Railings and oiled oak.

Worktops: Carrara Marble and Polinato Black Forest.

Appliances: Bora, Siemens and Quooker.
