Mill House Kitchen

A luxury walnut and painted kitchen, in Kent.

Set within a characterful countryside property, the Mill House Kitchen blends natural warmth with contemporary elegance. The brief was to create a sociable space that felt refined yet homely, showcasing craftsmanship while enhancing everyday functionality.

A key design challenge was to harmonise the room’s generous proportions with intimate zones for everyday living. The circular dining nook, handcrafted from solid walnut, anchors the space with a sculptural presence, while pendant lighting creates balance and rhythm above the island.

The kitchen was conceived as the heart of the home — a space for cooking, entertaining, and gathering. To achieve this, the layout centres on a commanding walnut island with marble top, complemented by a curved breakfast bar that encourages informal dining.

Storage was carefully integrated, with grain-matched walnut cabinetry concealing practical larders and shelving while maintaining visual continuity. The natural figuring of the walnut adds warmth and depth, contrasting beautifully against the soft neutral cabinetry and polished stone floor.

This project exemplifies our philosophy of combining meticulous craftsmanship with timeless design. The Mill House Kitchen is both a showcase of natural material beauty and a welcoming hub for modern family life.
